BREAKING: Sources say Kermit Davis to replace Kennedy as Ole Miss men’s basketball coach

Ole Miss has found Andy Kennedy’s replacement, multiple news outlets are reporting.

The newest men’s basketball coach will be Kermit Davis, who is currently coaching the Middle Tennessee team in the NIT Tournament. An announcement is expected to come later this week.

Kermit has been with Middle Tennessee since 2002 and the team made three NCAA Tournament appearances during that time. The most memorable of the appearances being when the team upset Michigan State, gaining national attention.

Kennedy resigned last month after 12 years with Ole Miss basketball and the Ole Miss team has not been to the NCAA Tournament since 2015. This year they also failed to quality for the NIT Tournament.
