Olejniczak to transfer from Ole Miss

Dominik Olejniczak will enter the NCAA graduate transfer portal, according to reports.

The 7-foot center from Torun, Poland, who is set to graduate in May, averaged 5.3 points and 3 points in 18.3 minutes per game during the 2018-19 season. Olejniczak has started 33 games for the Rebels in the past two seasons.

Kermit Davis released a statement on Monday morning:

“After meeting with Dom and discussing his goals, I support his decision to enter the graduate transfer portal. This mutual agreement will allow him to spend his last season of eligibility elsewhere, but we are proud that he will earn his degree from the University of Mississippi this spring. Dom was instrumental in helping us get to the NCAA Tournament, and we wish him the best going forward.”

Olejniczak consistently struggled during his time at Ole Miss, as the Rebels lacked presence underneath the basket.

Kermit Davis will look to bolster the frontcourt through recruiting during the offseason with Blake Hinson, K.J. Buffen and Luis Rodriguez set to return next season.
