First death from Mississippi COVID-19 case announced

The first death in a Mississippi COVID-19 case was announced by the Mississippi Department of Health on Thursday.

The individual was a male 60-65 years old from Hancock County with chronic underlying conditions. He died in a Louisiana hospital, according to the announcement.

Mississippi has reported over 50 positive cases, with total of 602 people that have been tested in the state.
