Part of Manning Way to close next week

A section of Manning Way will close May 20-24 to continue the East Campus Electrical Modifications Project.

The project requires the removal of large concrete pylons located near the intersection of Manning Way and Gertrude Ford Boulevard.

The university has proposed two alternate routes. The first follows Highway 6 to Chucky Mullins Drive, where drivers can turn onto Hill Drive, which connects to the open side of Manning Way.

The second alternate route follows Gertrude Ford Boulevard to Taylor Road, where drivers can turn into a parking lot that will lead to the open section of Manning Way.

Just over a week after Manning Way is scheduled to reopen, Gertrude Ford Boulevard is scheduled to close for the month of July to allow for the construction of a new retaining wall. The city required the retaining wall project to be scheduled to finish by the start of the fall semester, as well as the reopening of Chucky Mullins Drive and All American Drive.
