University of Mississippi appoints Erica McKinley as general counsel

The University of Mississippi appointed Erica McKinley as general counsel on Monday.

McKinley was previously the chief operating officer for the National Basketball Players Association and was an assistant attorney general in the D.C. Office of the Attorney General, where she served as chief of general litigation. She was later appointed general counsel for the D.C. Department of Human Resources.

McKinley is a native of Jackson, Miss. and she graduated Tougaloo College with a bachelor’s degree in English, and she is an alumna of the University of Mississippi, where she obtained a law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

McKinley will begin the role of general counsel on June 22.
