What to expect from concession stands in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this season

On August 26, Ole Miss football and Centerplate hosted its Food Showcase, announcing new food partners and concession stand items that will be for sale in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this season as well as food that will be available in the press box and suites.

Headlining the Food Showcase were the new partners at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Fergndan’s Wood Fired Pizza, Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery. Fergndan’s will be sold in Sections A and L inside Vaught-Hemingway this season, and items from Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery will be sold in Sections S7, D and L this fall.

These new food partners were revealed alongside new concession items such as Burger Me, a burger stand with fully customizable burgers; Chop’s Tacho’s, a new form of nachos from Chop’s BBQ that features tater tots; and Tony’s Grab and Go which features a convenience store-type setting.

All of these stations and partners had samples of their items, but due to time constraints (and limited stomach space), I wasn’t able to try them all. However, I think fans in attendance at Vaught-Hemingway this fall will be pleased with the selection.

I was first intrigued by Chop’s Tacho’s, not because I knew what it was, but simply because it featured bright colors. Sounds simple-minded, but I never claimed to be a food critic, and the red peppers on top of the nachos caught my attention. Once I picked up my plate and examined the dish further, I discovered that they featured tater tots and, as a fan of all things involving potatoes, I was hooked.

I then moved down to Fergndan’s Pizza, and the workers from the company were telling me about the ingredients in the particular slice I chose. Something about buffalo milk and how it makes the cheese stringy. I don’t know; I wasn’t even close to fully listening. I was just enjoying my pizza, and I’m sure most of you will have the same mindset. You won’t care what’s in it just as long as it tastes good, and, I assure you, it does.
